December 20 Walking instead...

Walk whenever you can.

Use stairs instead of elevators. Park centrally and walk to shops as you run errands. Do not let your car idle while waiting to pick up kids.

Walking can help in at least two ways:

  1. It helps the environment by reducing poluting impacts
  2. It helps your physical and mental health
  • Improve your cardiovascular health and function 
  • Increase your aerobic capacity
  • Improve blood pressure
  • Control your blood sugar and reduce your risk of diabetes
  • Increase your metabolism
  • Maintain your weight

If you can walk - walk! Feel good about yourself.

Dear God, may the Laudato Sí Advent Calendar keep me aware, day-by-day during this special season and long into the future, that there is nobility in the duty to care for creation through little daily actions.  Amen.
