Updating our EMAIL

One of the benefits we anticipate from our new information system Breeze is better communication with parishioners. We were amazed when our first attempt at using Breeze for the weekly online bulletin mailing resulted in a nearly ten percent failure rate. Many of these email addresses had not been verified for years. If you did not receive an email from Assumption these past four Fridays (and did not opt out of the mailing), then we do not have your email in the new system. Here is how you can help. Click REGISTER. We’ll use your entries to fix our records, and we promise not to bother you with a lot of “junk” mail.

Baptism Preparation Session

Our next preparation session for parents (and, if possible, godparents) of infants to be baptized is Monday, January 6, at the Rectory. Sessions are from 7:00 to 8:15pm.  These sessions are for first time parents and for parents who have never before attended a preparation session. Call the Parish Office to register. It is not necessary to wait for the baby to be born to attend a preparation session. Baptisms normally take place on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 1:15pm and on the first weekend of the month during Mass. More here

Assumption Young Adults

Assumption Young Adults will gather following the 10:30am Mass this Sunday January 12 to go to Pastores, 546 N Wells. This is the first of what we hope will be many ventures for food and drink following the 10:30 or the 5:00pm Sunday Mass. For more information, email assumptionaya@gmail.com. AYA is for anyone in their twenties or thirties, single, coupled, or married.

Mass Live Streamed

The Sunday 9:00am Mass will be live-streamed. Click here to see it, or to watch a recorded version beginning around noon.

Honoring St Peregrine

Assumption has a prayer service in honor of St. Peregrine, the cancer saint, following the 12:10 Mass on Monday. St. Peregrine was a fourteenth century Servite Friar who was miraculously healed of cancer after spending a night in prayer before an image of Christ crucified.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with Benediction on the third Sunday of the Month from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Our next period of adoration is Monday January 20. There is free validated parking at MartPark, Orleans and Hubbard.
