The word "Eucharist" means "Thanksgiving." How appropriate to begin your family celebration of Thanksgiving by sharing in the Eucharist.

Mass on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 27, will be at 7:30 and 10:30am. The 311 Garage will be open for the 10:30 Mass.

Assumption is helping Our Lady of the Angels Mission on the West Side provide a happier Thanksgiving to the many families they assist. Please bring a turkey to church on Sunday morning November 23. Drivers will be parked in front of church to receive the frozen birds and deliver them to Our Lady of the Angels. Drop-off times are 7:15 to 9:15 and 10:15 to 12:30 only. We are not accepting cash donations for turkeys, but you are welcome to donate to Assumption Shares, the food coupons we provide the needy, or our Refugee Assistance Fund.

The holiday season will soon be upon us. The pace of life will accelerate. Wedged between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the marvelous season of ADVENT, an opportunity to slow down and reflect on how to be more open to the coming of Christ. 

One way to truly enter into the spirit of Advent is to join the Bible Study, which will focus on the Sunday Scriptures of Advent. The group will meet on four Monday evenings from 6:00 - 7:15, beginning November 24.
