At the Easter Vigil Mass on April 4, we welcomed eighteen new members! We celebrated the Baptism of Mollie DeBrunner, Savannah Fanning, Jonathan Gauger, Sydney Lewanovich, Kenia Reyes, Aryan Sheikhalian, Evelina Stromberg, and Hailey Williams, and received into full membership with the Catholic Church Karen Barzman, Brayden Sims, Alexandra Ford, Aria DiLeonardi, Alexandra Dryden, Alexander Fay, Victoria Fay, Conor Mooney, Connor Nichols, and Michelle Wick. For several years the parishioners of Assumption Parish have been supporting refugee families as they transition to new lives here in Chicago having been forced by violence, hunger, and other reasons to leave their homes. The Refugee Assistance team and the families we serve are so very grateful.

Our next preparation session for parents (and, if possible, godparents) of infants to be baptized is Monday, May 11, at the Rectory. Sessions are from 7:00 to 8:15pm. These sessions are for first time parents and for parents who have never before attended a preparation session. Call the Parish Office to register. It is not necessary to wait for the baby to be born to attend a preparation session. Baptisms normally take place on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 1:15pm and on the first weekend of the month during Mass. More here.
