On Saturday morning May 12, Cardinal Cupich ordained nineteen men as permanent deacons for service in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Last in the alphabetical list of new deacons is Assumption parishioner Kevin Zajdel, who becomes the first permanent deacon in the 137 year history of Assumption Church.
